Get paid faster by offering your donors an easy and error-free way to pay.
Your non-profit organisation is approved by the King Baudouin Foundation through a “Friends of…” type project and you need the means to carry out positive actions. The collection of donations is therefore very important.
As a financial partner of the King Baudouin Foundation, Digiteal allows you to collect these donations very simply in electronic form, under special conditions: no start-up costs. In addition to the traditional payment methods, your NPO can now benefit from new payment solutions, with an immediate start!
The classic way to raise funds is to send a paper letter with a bank transfer slip. If you still do not have a transfer slip in your mail, you can generate it here.
Although this is a well-known payment method, there are still some disadvantages with the transfer slip. The donor must himself copy the information on it to make his donation via his banking application. This can lead to typing errors and he may also forget to put the structured communication. In this case, you will not receive the planned donation. Moreover, it is not the most practical and modern way to make a donation. With Digiteal, you will see that you can easily do much better. It’s a breeze!
To ease the transition from paper to electronic payment, you can generate a transfer slip with a banner containing a payment QR code. The banner explains how to make a donation in 3 easy steps. The advantage of the banner is that the QR code contains all the information necessary to make the payment and the donor does not need to enter anything manually… You can generate such a specific transfer slip for your project at the King Baudouin Foundation here.
To make the payment, your donors will have the choice between Belfius, CBC or KBC’s mobile banking applications, as well as the Digiteal application, which allows them to pay using any European bank (provided they have an account in Euros).
More and more Belgians are using a mobile banking application. Today, customers of Belfius, KBC and Digiteal can scan a standard QR code via their mobile application to make this payment. You can generate such a specific payment QR code for your project at the King Baudouin Foundation here.
You can then add this payment QR code in your letter to your donors with a short explanation. We propose the following text:
“Make a donation in one click! If you are using the Belfius or KBC mobile application, select “mobile payment” and scan this “scan2pay” QR code. A more flexible alternative: download the Digiteal application, create your account and you can pay from any bank (eu Euros)! Digiteal is approved by the National Bank of Belgium as a payment institution and offers you various services that simplify your daily life.“
If you send payment requests or donation requests by email, Digiteal offers you the option of using a payment button. The donor will then be able to click on the button and make a donation directly via Digiteal. Just like for the payment QR code, you can choose to create a payment button with or without an amount. If the amount is not specified or if it is equal to 0€, the donor will be able to choose how much he wants to give to your association. To create this button, simply include a link to this URL by adapting the “creditorReference” (structured communication) to match your association’s project code: Example of a link without a specific amount for “Les amis de Demoucelle Parkinson Charity”:
Your IT team will find more detailed information and a full explanation of Digiteal’s payment buttons in our technical documentation.
As mentioned above, the fees depend on the payment method used by the donor:
The payment terms and contract for using this service are described in your association’s agreement with the King Baudouin Foundation. There is therefore no contract to sign with Digiteal. This means that you can now allow your donors to pay with a QR code and/or with a payment button.
Note: If your NPO is not recognized by the King Baudouin Foundation, you are welcome to use Digiteal’s generator for donations or for all your payment requests. Explanations for doing this are available here.
